The Ys of Québec serves to broaden our horizons.
As you may have noticed, the YMCA of Greater Montreal is now The Ys of Québec. This change is the result of a strategic process we’ve been working on for over a year now.
As The Ys of Québec, our organization communicates our aspiration to develop closer ties with different communities throughout Québec, all the while, continuing to deliver our programs in the communities where we are already known. As a result we are better equipped to fulfill our social mission across a larger spectrum of communities.
Our dream is to one day have the Y be present everywhere from Gatineau to the Gaspé. A greater presence means helping more individuals and supporting more communities in need. In short, we wish to help and serve on a larger geographic scale, much the same way we already are in Montréal, Québec City, Longueuil and Joliette, while respecting the vital work of community organizations already in place.
The signature that accompanies our new logo, “Fulfilling lives”, reflects how above all The Ys of Québec can improve the many “lives” of individuals who make up our communities, and communicates the dynamic nature of our organization.
The Y centres have always been firmly rooted in their communities and are admired for their commitment to humanitarian and social causes. Since its inception, the Y has chosen to evolve in an effort to promote the integration and strengthening of communities. This vision remains just as relevant today.
It is now time to broaden our horizons and shine even brighter in the hearts of the people of Québec.
