The Guy-Favreau Y centre focuses its efforts not only on improving the health and well-being of its members, but also on improving the quality of life of the community. The centre is involved in many different outreach activities in the east end of downtown, from Beaver Hall to Iberville, where hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life live and work.

Troubled youth and seniors are specific target clienteles of the Guy-Favreau Y centre. Over the years, many different organizations have joined forces with the Y to take more effective action in the Centre-Sud district. The Guy-Favreau Y centre has also introduced a very beneficial program; the “Adopt a School” project supports elementary schools in low-income neighbourhoods and provides their students with incentives to stay in school. With financial help from Desjardins Asset Management and its partners, the Y sets up after-school and enrichment programs, organizes school outings and provides the schools with computer and athletic equipment.

The Guy-Favreau Y centre has a long been recognized as a state-of-the-art fitness centre serving an active clientele. With its pool, indoor track and wide variety of equipment, the centre encourages healthy minds and bodies!
The Guy-Favreau Y centre enjoys the outstanding support of nearly 20 volunteers and several donors. Close to 3,300 people use its programs and services every year.
