Your gift makes a difference

Did you know that 41% of our activities and services are offered free of charge? Or that 47% of our participants pay no fees or receive financial assistance so that they can benefit from our programs despite their financial difficulties?

The Y opens its doors to all members of the community, and it does so thanks to your donations.

When you give, you have a direct impact on your community by supporting essential activities such as homework help for children who are struggling in school, bursaries for young campers, reception and integration of asylum seekers and new arrivals, and assistance for seniors who live alone.

Your support also helps make the Y programs accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. We currently provide more than $675,000 in financial support to more than 5,600 recipients, but we’d like to do even more.

Here are some examples of what your donation can accomplish:

  • $25
Provide one week’s worth of healthy snacks to children in a homework help program.
  • $75
Help a senior living alone remain in his or her home without worries thanks to a daily phone call ensuring their safety.
  • $100
Provide a day of specialized accompaniment so that a child with special-needs can take part in our programs alongside other children.
  • $120
Provide one week of Y day camp for a child who would otherwise spend the entire summer at home.
  • $250
Enable a young child from a less fortunate family to participate in one of our high-quality pre-school programs.
  • $500
Enable 20 young leaders to take part in an educational outing for a weekend.
  • $1,200
Give a teen who has never been out of the city a chance to spend two weeks at Camp Y Kanawana, as well as assistance to purchase any necessary equipment.
