The YMCAs of Québec’s Nursery School programs are based on the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

A child’s first learning experiences play a significant role in the development of their overall well-being. These experiences become the foundation for the acquisition of skills that they will need to have a positive experience when starting kindergarten.

This is why the objective of our programs, based on our Educational Approach, is to foster the growth and development of children and to offer a range of age-appropriate educational activities in order to ensure a fun and positive learning environment. Our planned daily activities help stimulate children’s imaginations and creativity, as well as develop their sense of curiosity, observational ability and concentration.

As they progress from one age group to the next and improve their social skills, children who have participated in our nursery school programs will be well prepared to grow in a more structured learning environment such as kindergarten, where their development will continue to evolve.

The Y Nursery Programs offer:
Half-day programs.
The choice of number of days according to age group.
Includes adapted swim classes for children 3 to 5 years old.
10-month program.

NDG Y centre	Ages: 2 to 5 years old mornings & lunch hour; 3 to 5 years old afternoons. Adult to child ratio: 2 to 3 years old – 1:6 3 to 5 years old – 1:8	Choice of 2, 3 or 5 mornings, Monday to Friday. Schedule: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Choice of 1, 2 or 3 afternoons, Tuesday to Thursday. Schedule: 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.
	This program may be extended into lunch hour. Monday to Thursday. Schedule: 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Parents must provide their child with a lunch. For more information, call: 514-486-7315 ext. 229.

Westmount Y centre	Ages: 2½ to 5 years old Adult to child ratio: 2 to 3 years old – 1:6 3 to 5 years old – 1:8	Choice of 2, 3 or 5 mornings, Monday to Friday. Schedule: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. if child is registered for 2 or 3 mornings. 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. if child is registered for 5 mornings, Monday to Friday.
	This program may be extended into lunch hour. Ages: 2 to 5 years old Schedule: 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Parents must provide their child with a lunch. French activities offered to children registered in the nursery school program (Please note: this does not involve structured courses, but rather, French language awareness activities during play). West Island Y centre	Age: 2½ to 5 years old Schedule: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00&nbsp.m. Adult to child ratio: 2½ - 1:6 3 to 5 years old - 1:8	Choice of 2, 3 or 5 mornings, Monday to Friday, according to age group.
