"The annual YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is one of our most important fundraising events. The funds raised ensure that all children, youth, adults and families in our community to benefit from the numerous programs provided by the YMCA, regardless of their financial situation," said Linda Bernier, Director, Community Initiatives.

By giving to the campaign, you enable:
  • an at-risk youth to benefit from a safe and positive environment in our Teen Zone programs;
  • a child from a disadvantaged family to participate in our day camp for one week;
  • a senior to join our Rendez-vous Y program, meet others, and socialize in order to break their isolation;
  • a child with special needs to experience unforgettable moments at our day camp for an entire week.
YMCA programs are known to have a lasting impact on the well-being of participants, such as fifteen-year-old
Kimberly who is a loyal member of our Youth Zone: “What I like most about the Teen Zone is that you meet new people and you learn a lot from the staff. At home I would just be watching TV after school. But here I can socialize, do lots of activities, and make new friends. The Teen Zone is really fun!”

Your gift will change a life! There are children, youth, adults, and families in your community who need your support.
Don’t wait… Give generously today! Give in person at your NDG Y centre, by telephone at 514 486-7315, ext. 3116, or

Silent Auction and Wine & Cheese at the NDG Y centre

FUNDRAISER: YMCA Peace Week in benefit of our International partnership with the YMCA of Haiti

The week of November 19th to 26th, 2011, the NDG Y centre will be celebrating 27 years of peace and non-violence. Recognised as International Peace Week, the NDG Y centre will be raising awareness about global issues, recognizing peacemakers in the community and supporting community development in our sister YMCA in Haiti.

The Silent Auction Wine & Cheese event will take place on Wednesday November 23rd from 5 to 7pm at the NDG Y centre (4335 Hampton). This event allows the NDG Y centre to involve businesses from the NDG area by auctioning donated items. All donations and funds received during our International Peace Week events are sent to Haiti to provide educational  supplies, as well as to sustain the YMCA of Haiti’s Education Sponsorship Program.?

It is through this program that the YMCA of Haiti provides children living in poverty with tuition funding, school supplies and extra-curricular activities to compliment their education.  Naissa Theramene, a 10-year-old girl living in Port-au-Prince, has been sponsored for the last two years with the funds from our Silent Auction Wine & Cheese for Peace.
